The adviser of Panamanian Society of Engineers and Architects (SPIA), José Batista, believes that the cottages and town houses have a marked distinction, as the countryside is more informal, where the terraces and more open places are prevalent. Batista said that the country has a good recreational housing development. “Products are offering everything from very simple projects to others that are a mansions.”

Some years ago, the most common areas for the construction of cottages, were Cerro Azul, El Valle and Altos de Maria Panama. Nowadays, the market has been extended and are developing areas, such as Coronado, Pedasi, Mariato, Farallon and Gorgona.

Meanwhile, the President of the Panamanian Association of Brokers and Real Estate (Acobir), Katherine Shahani, said that the housing market continues to grow and there are also developing several projects including Chame, Rio Hato and Boquete.
