For 2015, Panama expects to generate lots of jobs, because it is estimated that six economic sectors will generate 48,000 new jobs and the country will become the pointer region in finding a job.

The employment projections for Panama are very good for this 2015. Several economic sectors will generate jobs. These include trade, construction, tourism, logistics sector, industry and agriculture.
According to information published by the news portal La Prensa, Panama starts 2015 off right in the labor arena and the country will become the pointer of the region when finding a job. The Ministry of Labor and Workforce Development (Mitradel) noted that the aforementioned economic sectors, representing 60% of gross domestic product (GDP), estimated at 6.4%.
According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), it is good news for a country surrounded by nations affected by the falling price of oil and metals and low livestock production whereby the major economic powers in Latin are supported America and the Caribbean.
Panama’s economic development will continue to focus on maritime services, financial and transit points, which boosted GDP at 6.3% at the end of 2014, although these activities recorded lower growth compared to previous years.
The country continued to generate more jobs, but not at the pace of the past four years, mainly due to the completion of major works, the expectations generated the culmination of a presidential term and call a general election.
A recent report made by Mitradel reveals that, from January to November 2014, 258,190 new contracts were signed in Panama, an increase of 18,000 jobs, 45 over the same period last year. During this period, construction topped the list with 97,260 new job places.
The pace of hiring also grew in the area of wholesale and retail 55,985 additions, and administrative and support services activities reported 24,933 contracts. Moreover, there are other projects approved by the Ministry of Public Works in the province of Chiriqui, in addition to building schools and residential projects in the areas of Arraijan and La Chorrera.
It is also expected that the Directorate of Municipal Works of Panama, reactive building permits and occupancy have declined in the last quarter next year.
