Panama and Qatar will explore investments in real estate industry

The presidents of Panama and Qatar, Juan Carlos Varela and the Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressed interest in strengthening economic relations through the promotion of investments in the commercial sector, infrastructure and real estate.

The meeting between the two leaders, was held within the framework of the 71st General Assembly of the United Nations, held the middle of last September, where they also discussed the possible opening of an air route connecting two destinations with a stopover in Barcelona, ​​Spain.

• The president of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela, and the emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, explored investment opportunities between the two countries and strengthening economic relations.

Last September, was held the 71st General Assembly of the United Nations, in which the presidents of Panama and Qatar, talked about their interest in investments in the commercial sector, infrastructure and real estate, according to the Panamanian presidency.

During the meeting, President Juan Carlos Varela, was accompanied by Vice President and Chancellor, Isabel Saint Malo, and also was accompanied the Deputy Minister of Security, Jonathan del Rosario; the Director of Foreign Policy of the Chancellery, Nicole Wong and Ambassador of Panama to the United Nations, Laura Flores.

“At the meeting, was highlighted the impact that the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal and Line 3 of Metro of Panama will have on the commercial development of this economic area, a former military base that houses various transnational.”

On security subject, the Panamanian delegation proposed establishing a mechanism for the exchange of information, security, intelligence and immigration alerts that was received with interest by the delegation of Qatar.

To follow up the agreements reached at this meeting, the Emir announced it will send an official mission to Panama in the coming months, and Panamanian President extended his invitation to the president to vistar Panama and to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two nations.
