* The flight to Panama, will arrive at 19:00 local time (00:00 GMT) and the return flight is scheduled for 21:00 local time (0200 GMT) to Istanbul, a direct journey to exceed 13 hours, according to official data.

Turkish Airlines has announced it will operate a route to Panama from February 2016, with an initial frequency of three flights per week on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Initially, Turkish configured Istanbul Bogota, Bogota-Panama route, and for the return, the itinerary will be direct between Tocumen International Airport and Istanbul. This was informed by the manager of Tocumen operations, Claudio Dutary.

According to information published by La Prensa website, “Turkish Airlines adds to the plans of the companies Lufthansa and Emirates Airlines, which are scheduled to start operations at Tocumen International Airport in the first quarter of next year.” A statement issued by the International Airport of Tocumen, reported that “the new flights of Turkish, Lufthansa and Emirates are an important contribution to growth of 9.5% in annual traffic at Tocumen Airport, which will thus reinforced its position as the regional hub in Latin America”.

Thus, Turkey joins the list of countries with routes to and from Panama, which is expected to benefit tourism and economy in the country.
